Pleonastic Ephemera

Lt. Commander Swift has a tough job: defending Guantanamo detainees in the military tribunals through which Bush as ordered they be tried. DOD gets to call all the shots and they're not going to make it easy: defendants cannot see all the evidence against them, hearsay is permitted, and an appeal goes to a panel whose members are chosen by -- wait for it -- Donald Rumsfeld. And should the tribunals ever actually start (the government doesn't have a lot of incentive to move forward quickly) and Swift somehow win, the detainees can still be held indefinitely.
