I made an offer on a one-bedroom apartment today. Whew! Pretty exciting stuff. Makes me a little nervous to think about getting into that sort of commitment by myself. But I'm not happy where I am for various reasons, and I think a lot of good could come of having my own place. It's not that far from where I live now, close enough that I would still have a walking commute to work. I made an offer slightly less than what the landlord wanted, so I'll be able to feel good if I get it, and if I don't, I'm not screwed because I'll still have time to find another place and get out of here by February 1st. Win/win situation, I hope.
Cool video about Virginia Tech's G5 supercomputer. Apple certainly is disversifying, what with their iPods and XServes and GarageBands and whatnot. Good news for people who like well-designed, high-quality computing products. |
