Checked out my first post-Columbia Columbia party (as in one thrown by friends from school who graduated with me in May and now live in the city doing their own thing, the kind we keep talk about throwing but haven't gotten around to yet) Saturday night. It felt a lot like a college party, complete with keg and familiar faces of people I'd seen around school but never met, but at the same time, there was a mood in the air that elevated it above typical collegiate revelry, some pungent combination of maturity and worldliness with a smattering of gainful employment. At any rate, I had a good time and a lot of drinks and finally met some of the people behind those familiar faces, so many thanks to Victoria and her roommates. |
