One of the great features of Soulseek is browsing a user's file collection. I've discovered some amazing music this way, and it has a cool side effect in that people sometimes message each other when they're interested in someone's collection or have a question or comment or whatever. All this week I've been messaging back and forth with somebody in Amsterdam who was thoughtful enough to thank me and express his pleasure with the files I've shared. With the time difference, whenever I was on they were away and vice versa, so we've just been sending one or two lines at a time. But tonight he was up late so we messaged for a little while. The times I've chatted with people on Soulseek before we talked about music, but this guy vented his frustrations with the American immigration system.
