Pleonastic Ephemera

As has been the case for the past few Superbowls, I don't really care who wins, though I will probably do a little rooting for the Pats since I'm going to a party where everyone else will be, and plus I don't like rooting for expansion teams in general. However, I predict a Panthers upset victory because the video games say so.

That NY Times magazine story about sex slavery in America has come under scrutiny this week as the author has been accused of sloppy journalism, unverified sources, and exaggeration to the point of sensationalism. Read about it at Slate. Quote from Blogger Daniel Radosh: "Some people I actually respect have suggested that because the existence of even ten sex slaves is a far more egregious crime than one bad article (obvs), to criticize the article is in some way to dismiss the slavery. I'd call that a false choice. If anything, the more important the story, the more important it is to get it right. Yes, even to which tower came down first."
