Halloween may be my least favorite holiday. Falling four or so weeks before the annual national overindulgence that is Thanksgiving, it's like the nasty vegetable dish you have to finish before you can eat dessert. But this opinion is in the minority in New York, and so usually I just hunker down and wait for the whole thing to blow over.
However, this year Christian and Jackie's evite is very insistent that attendees come becostumed, and I want to go because their parties rock and the new loft will no doubt be all gussied up. Since I've already gone to a costume party as myself this year, that can serve as my fuck you to Halloween, and therefore I am comfortable attempting a costume for the 31st. Fortunately, the internet can be creative for me. Their Quick And Easy section blows ("Poetry In Motion: Wear light colored sweats and write famous poetry phrases all over them"), but I spotted some decent ideas elsewhere. |
